Coffee in a cone! Chatterbox café brings new coffee experience to Seychelles

Seychelles may be a thousand miles from anywhere, but the Indian Ocean archipelago does try to keep up with the latest trend in the world.
Chatterbox, a café owned by Kirschlee and Marsha Naidoo, has brought a little innovation and excitement for coffee lovers on the island.
Forget about ordering your coffee the conventional way in a coffee cup; as the café located at Eden Island now offers ‘coffee in a cone’ where you can drink your coffee right out of an ice-cream cone.
Coffee in a cone that has been dubbed the world’s ‘most instagrammable coffee’ is a concept developed by a South-African café owner, Dayne Levinrad.
The concept came about after Levinrad decided to serve three things people love – ice-cream, coffee and chocolate – at one go. Whether you’re having a Cappuccino or an Espresso, this is served in a chocolate coated ice-cream cone. Customers have around 10 minutes to enjoy their brew from the cone before the chocolate starts to melt.
Launched in Johannesburg, South Africa, in January 2016, the concept has been taken onboard in Europe, Canada and Hong Kong and even Australia. Seychelles has now become the first and so far only Indian Ocean country to offer coffee in a cone.
The Chatterbox café hosted an official launch for its customers on Thursday September 28, 2017, and the new product has been met with positive reviews. Coffee in a cone adds to the varied menu of Chatterbox, which is already known for its novelty milkshakes and coffee.
Mrs Marsha Naidoo, who owns the café together with her husband, says partnering with Mr Levinrad to introduce the new coffee craze in Seychelles is aimed at attracting tourists as well as getting locals to try out an innovative product.
Anyone wishing to sip their coffee from a crunchy, biscuity waffle cone with beautiful melted chocolate inside, priced at SCR 109, can pass by the Chatterbox at Eden Plaza, on Eden Island.
The café is open daily between 8a.m and 10p.m from Mondays to Thursdays; between 8a.m and 11p.m on Fridays; 8a.m and 12a.m on Saturdays and 9a.m to 9p.m on Sundays.
