The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) office in Reunion partnered with ‘Welcomes Vacances’ to take part in a wedding fair held in Reunion’s city of St Denis, from March 23 to 25, 2018.
There is huge potential for Seychelles to tap into Reunion’s honeymoon market as the island registers some 3,000 weddings annually.
STB’s Senior Marketing Executive based in Reunion, Bernadette Honore, and Marketing Executive for the Indian Ocean, Daphnee Zahary, were present at the fair, enticing newlyweds and those planning to get married to choose Seychelles for their honeymoons.
Throughout the 3-day fair, STB attracted visitors planning to spend their honeymoon in Seychelles not only in 2018, but also for the two coming years – 2019 and 2020. The team also registered quite a bit of enquiries from couples wishing to have their wedding ceremonies conducted in Seychelles.
The Senior Marketing Executive in Reunion, Bernadette Honore, said STB had a remarkable presence at the wedding fair.
“Our aim was to entice newlyweds or those planning their weddings to choose Seychelles as their honeymoon destination. Our main partner, Welcomes Vacances, was also offering attractive packages for a honeymoon stay in the Seychelles. So the STB office in Reunion is satisfied that it has been able to attain its objective in helping Seychelles to attract the right clientele and build strong interest in the destination,” Ms Honore added.
In addition to the promotional activities conducted in Reunion; the STB office also kicked off 2018 with a series of consumer tactical advertising campaigns showcasing the destination on television in close partnership with its airline partner Air Austral.
The first phase of the campaign being broadcast on one of Reunion’s top television station, Antenne Reunion, started in February and will close in April. The second phase will be starting beginning of May, lasting till September. The campaign will make use of other audio-visual mediums: hypermarket video screens; featuring on Reunion Premiere and in cinema, to state but a few.
The Seychelles destination will also receive additional visibility through a tactical campaign with Bourbon Voyages and Tropic Voyages, which will be going out this month and running until April on Antenne Reunion. The campaign will also go digital and will be advertised via other means, including through window displays at different sales points by the two partners.
