The Seychelles Ocean Festival will take place from 2nd - 9th December 2016.
The new Seychelles Ocean Festival (SOF) stands on the shoulders of its predecessor SUBIOS and its achievements over a period of two decades while at the same time attempting to broaden its appeal and involve other emerging sectors of Seychelles’ marine scene such as sailing, cruising and sports-fishing which are all steadily evolving to become mainstream tourist activities and major destination attractions.
The new Festival, which will kick off with a launch at Eden Island on Friday 2nd followed by a paid gala dinner at Eden Bleu the next day, will also include public events such as a family fun day on Sunday 4th December featuring a number of sporting activities. There will also be dedicated film screenings at Deepams Cinema as well as exhibitions and special festival activities hosted at various hotels and dive centres throughout festival week.

The dedicated Praslin Fiesta will follow in the spirt of the 'Fete de La Musique' of Praslin in 1979 when a 'Pierre de L'Unite' was erected at the Vallee de Mai entrance.
The Second edition of the Praslin Culinary & Arts Fiesta will be held from the 9th to the 11th of October 2015 with an opening ceremony in Grande Anse and the second day activities in the Baie Sainte Anne District.
The Feast of the Assumption of Mary is dedicated to the church of La Digue and is very popular with Seychellois from all islands who flock to the island for the occasion.

The Seychelles Tourism Board has launched the 'Selsel Sa! Video Competition', which will run until the 19th of September 2016.
Open only to citizens of Seychelles, the video competition will allow Seychellois to showcase their filming and video editing skills. Videos submittted must be based on the theme 'Sesel Sa!', which should showcase Seychelles in general, and what makes it unique, such as the Creole culture.
