The first Seychelles Russian Roadshow ended late in February successfully positioning the islands as a favourite destination for Russian travel professionals.
The Seychelles Tourism Board together with its partners spent a week conducting workshops, and showing the many tourism products it had to offer to various parts of Russia such as Moscow, Yekaterinburg and St Petersburg – to convince the Russian travel professionals to send their clients over to the islands for the holidays.
The Seychelles Tourism Board European director, Bernadette Willemin said it was obvious Seychelles remains a firm favourite among the travel professionals in that market.
“This was clearly seen in the successful turn out of travel agents and tour operators during the events in the three different cities strategically chosen by the Seychelles Tourism Board representation company in Moscow,” she explained.
Mrs Willemin was accompanied on the tour by 13 –strong delegation which included the board’s representatives as well as its partners; Banyan Tree Seychelles, Kempinski Seychelles, Four Seasons Seychelles, Creole Travel Services, Coral Strand Smart Hotel, 7 ° South, Desroches Island, North Island, Air Seychelles and Enchanted Resorts.
“The success of this first edition of the dedicated Seychelles Roadshow organized by Seychelles Tourism Board, has been a possible event just like others held in the other European markets for the past 11 years due to the continuous support and efforts of our faithful trade partners,” said Mrs Willemin.
“This strong partnership between the local partners and the Seychelles Tourism Board has contributed to the overall awareness of the destination and for the past two years we have seen an increase in figures to the Seychelles from the Russian market,” she added.
The rendez-vous for the next edition is set for October where this time, the STB will be targeting the regions.
