“The flair of India will expose Victoria, the Creole capital of the world, to a rich mosaic of food court personalities and culture of India. For three days, the festival will bring the best talents within the community to highlight a fusion of Bollywood movies and stars in captivating performance enthralling people of all ages. An Indian exposition tracing the first Indian settlers in Seychelles until present day will also be on the programme,”’ said Minister Alain St Ange.
The Indian High Commissioner to Seychelles said it is in the process of finalising details of the event which will promote people-to-people contact and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
“We are confident that such an event will promote and encourage more tourism and business interests between India and Seychelles and also in the region,” added Thanglura Darlong.
With the announcement on 30th June that the Sri Lankan Airline will soon be operating on the Seychelles route, Minister St Ange said this is timely as the Indian Day Celebrations in October is expected to coincide with the arrival of the first flight of this airline, thus opening new air links to India as well.
