Representatives of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) offices in Europe, China and South Africa met in Seychelles in June for the mid-year review.
During the two days of deliberations held at Le Meridien Barbarons hotel, the tourism board gave presentations of its performances on its core markets.
The meeting also offered opportunities for the tourism board to bench test its developments and take stock of where it is, whilst evaluating and planning the way forward for the rest of the year and for 2014.
Discussions were also held on the respective strengths and weaknesses of the Seychelles tourism product in line with current travel trends, with input and suggestions from members of the trade.
The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St Ange, affirmed at the end of the meeting the importance of marketing a destination.“Tourism has many components and it is the successful dovetailing of these that ensures its health and prosperity. The success of our marketing of the destination as important as that is, is dependent upon attractiveness and competitiveness of our tourism products in an age when the consumer is faced with bewildering choice of holiday venues and this is something we must not lose sight of’’.
