The Travel and Tourism Mart’s grouping member states of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC) will become a pivotal marketing platform for the Vanilla Islands and member states IOR-ARC, to open up discussions on how to strengthen and expand the region’s tourism industry.

Alain St Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture and also President of the Vanilla Islands, said he had received confirmation from IOR-ARC that all tourism ministers of the organisation will converge on the islands next year for what will be Seychelles’ first Tourism Mart.

Minister Alain St Ange revealed this recently following his meeting with IOR-ARC Secretary General KV Bhagirath at the organisation’s headquarters in Mauritius.

Seychelles’ Travel and Tourism Mart 2014 will not only open new avenues for the Indian Ocean region but will solidify the Vanilla Islands organisation by generating more visibility and growth in tourism.

The news that Seychelles will host the event next year comes in the wake of enthusiastic support that Seychelles and other Vanilla Islands member states, notably Reunion, Comoros, Mauritius and Mayotte, provided to Madagascar for its International Tourism Trade Fair held between May 30 to June 1.
