Following the launching of thrice weekly flights to Hong Kong by Air Seychelles, Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) is stepping up its efforts to claim a fair share of the Chinese market.
The Seychelles Delegation at ITE International Fair in Hong Kong
It is with this objective that Elsia Grandcourt Seychelles Tourism Board Chief Executive led a delegation at the ITE international Fair in Hong Kong from June 13 to 16.
ITE is one of the oldest tourism fairs in Hong Kong covering mainland China, particularly Southern China. Covering corporate travel, events and conferences, it attracts exhibitors, including some 6,000 travel agents and tour operators from over 50 countries.
China is one of the fastest growing tourism markets and with Air Seychelles flying directly to Hong Kong; STB felt it necessary to increase Seychelles islands' visibility there.
This year, Seychelles' stand introduced a new attraction for visitors. This was a wheel of fortune whereby visitors could win round trips to our islands, including free accommodation and excursions with a Coco de Mer as a souvenir.
The trips and other prizes were sponsored by Air Seychelles, Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Constance Hotels & Resorts, Creole Travel Services and Masons Travel.
The delegation at ITE Hong Kong also included STB's Regional Manager, Jean-Luc Lai Lam, Senior marketing Executive Stephanie Lablache and Air Seychelles Head of Sales Cindy Vidot.
They were backed by senior staff from Creole Travel Services, Masons Travel, Berjaya and Constance resorts.
