Seychelles Tourism Board completes successful ground-work in Reunion by STB
The Seychelles Tourism Board has carried out some successful sales calls in Reunion and reiterated the importance of partnership between the Seychelles and Reunion tour operators.
Trade partners from both destinations attended a workshop at the beginning of June to share their success stories and also discuss the pull-out of Air Austral on the Seychelles route.
Christina Cecile and Valerie Payet, Marketing Executives for the Indian Ocean markets from the Seychelles Tourism Board, said their presence in Reunion “was a prime opportunity to get acquainted with the destination’s partners” and work together to create a positive market sentiment following the pull-out of direct flights in Seychelles.
They said that they were warmly welcomed by the Reunion trade and though being sceptical about the potential of the Seychelles-Reunion market to record positive growth under the circumstances, the tour operators were supportive of Seychelles’ call to maintain visitors' flow between the two islands.
The tour operators gave a thumb up to the initiatives of the Seychelles Tourism Board for the ground-breaking exercise and one-to-one contacts with their Reunion counterparts on all corners of the island, stressing that “it is of prime importance for Seychelles Tourism Board to forge a good working relationship with its Reunion counterparts to sustain the positive performance of this market to Seychelles”.
