The re-election of Minister St Ange was held at the organisation’s extraordinary meeting at the International Tourism Fair in Madagascar at the end of May.
Minister St Ange’s second mandate was unanimously backed by the Vanilla Islands’ four member states, namely Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and Comoros.
Minister St Ange said “the member states felt that my first year as President of the Vanilla Islands was an inception year whereby the organisation structure was being put in place: a progress which is still ongoing’.
“Their resolve in supporting my membership and their unity in wanting to see our regional organisation work for the benefit of our respective island economy and tourism industry was really appreciated,” he said.
Minister St Ange was elected first President of the Vanilla Islands in 2012.
