Seychelles Tourism Office Middle East & Etihad Airways/Air Seychelles increased FAM Trips to Seychelles

During their four-day visit, the group were given the opportunity to experience and explore different islands. They commenced their trip staying at Desroches Island, one of the Outer Islands, 40 minutes from Mahé whereby a range of activities were organised by the hotel such as a sunset cruise, fishing and spa treatments.

The group spent their second day on Praslin Island at the Constance Lemuria Resort, the only five star resort and the last 2 days were spent on Mahé at the Constance Ephelia Resort, the largest resort in Seychelles with 267 rooms and Kempinski Seychelles Resort the newly opened 5 star hotel.

The group enjoyed hosted lunch at Marie Antoinette restaurant wherby they met with Air Seychelles representatives and Local Destination Management Companies; 7° South, Creole Travel Services, Elite Club, Masons Travel, Select-Seychelles and Vision Voyages to better understand their needs and approach to the market.

In addition to showcasing the larger more established hotels during the groups stay, a visit was arranged to some of the Seychelles smaller establishments in line with STB’s strategy to position and promote these affordable hotels.

“The trip received overwhelming feedback and was the first occasion we have combined the inner and outer islands to strengthen Seychelles,’ position and awareness level in the Middle East”, says Ahmed Fathallah, Regional Manager, Seychelles Tourism Office, and Middle East, who escorted the group.

“We are delighted to support the Seychelles Tourism Board in promoting the islands and their considerable natural beauty and attractions. “We believe our ongoing collaboration will contribute significantly to increasing the number of visitors to Seychelles via Abu Dhabi,” said Hareb Al Muhairy, Etihad Airways Vice President UAE.

A series of FAM trips will be implemented over the next 12 months to increase the number of agents experiencing the Islands.
