Description
A popular dining spot for both Seychellois and tourists, the historic Marie-Antoinette Restaurant is one of the oldest and most famous restaurants in Seychelles offering authentic Creole Seychellois food.

Originally opened in 1972, Marie-Antoinette boasts a rustic charm, a relaxed atmosphere and a time-honoured menu that has remained virtually unchanged since its doors first opened, including batter-fried parrotfish, tuna steaks and chicken curries.

Located just above Victoria along the St Louis road towards Beau Vallon, Marie-Antoinette is housed in a historic colonial mansion well over 100 years old, and will soon be home to the Livingstone Art Gallery, named in honour of Henry Morton Stanley, who gave rise to the popular quotation “Dr Livingstone, I presume?” While in Seychelles, Stanley stayed at the Marie Antoinette, which he named Livingstone Cottage.

Marie Antoinette is open from Mondays to Saturdays for lunch and dinner, and also offers afternoon tea and ice-cream.
