Seychelles will be represented at the New York Times’ 2010 Travel Show in the United States on February 26-28, by the country’s Director of Tourism Marketing, Alain St Ange and 7° South’s Anna Butler-Payette.
They will be there on a promotional trip to help open up Seychelles as a holiday option in that market.
On Friday 26, the Seychelles representatives will join a panel of four other regional tourist boards invited by the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa (APTA) at a forum to discuss travel opportunities to Africa.
Here, Mrs. Butler-Payette has also been invited to address an audience of tour operators and retailed travel agents on the subject of Seychelles as an add-on to African safaris and also as a honeymoon & wedding destination.
Mr St Ange and Mrs Butler-Payette will also give an interview to Babbie de Derian, Editor of the Travel, Food & Spa Magazine and meet with other members of the travel industry.
They will be joined at the travel show by Seychelles’ Ambassador in the USA, Ronny Jumeau, and the proposed Tourism Ambassador for New York, Jacqueline Elias, born Young.
This promotional tour forms part of Seychelles’ ongoing marketing initiatives to raise the profile of the country and the suite of tourism products on offer, not only as a stand-alone destination, but also in combination with other destinations in Africa as a worthy partner in twin-hub vacations.
