All components that make a Seychelles’ holiday experience will hit the TV screens in Czechoslovakia in December 2010 when the destination appears in a top TV series.

The series – entitled On the Road – features different tourist destinations and Seychelles will receive extensive coverage as part of the countries chosen for this year.

An eight-member crew of the series were in Seychelles recently and spent ten days touring and filming the islands.

On the Road is a widely watched documentary series with ratings of one million viewers – accounting for a quarter of the Czech population.

As a welcome to the group, which included two prominent Czech TV personalities –Jiri Bartoska and Miroslav Donutil – Vice-President Joseph Belmont and the Director of Tourism Marketing, Alain St Ange, hosted them to dinner at Marie-Antoinette restaurant.

The dinner was also attended by the Czech ambassador accredited to Seychelles, Margrita Fuchsova, and local doctor of Czech origin, Dr George Panovsky.

The filming tour took the On the Road team to prominent sites on Mahé as well as on Praslin where they visited the Vallée de Mai, a world UNESCO site, as well as took a trip to Félicite Island.

They also had the opportunity to experience life on La Digue – the third main island of Seychelles – where they explored the vanilla plantation and spent some time at the famous Anse Source d’Argent beach.

The TV series is expected to make inroads for Seychelles in the Czech Republic and cultivate it as a potential new holiday destination for visitors.
