Seychelles is all set and already on the road at the different overseas trade fairs.
FITUR was the first trade fair for the international tourism industry this year followed by MATKA, the biggest trade fair in Northern Europe.
Seychelles was represented at both fairs by the Seychelles Tourism Board and members of the trade.
Speaking on Seychelles’ participation at FITUR in Spain from January 20-24, the Director of Tourism Marketing, Alain St Ange, said that the country’s presence at FITUR was vital for our tourism industry as Emirates Airline is launching a new flight connecting Madrid, Dubai and Seychelles in February.
“Spain remains a potential market for Seychelles and with Emirates providing visitors with a new flight, we are set on securing a share of this market,” he said.
The Seychelles team attending MATKA, held in Helsinki from January 21-24, shared the same optimism of seeing an increase in the flow of tourists from that region to the beautiful islands of Seychelles.
“With such a large number of participants from various sectors of the industry attending MATKA, we are positive to have made an impact in order to grab an even greater percentage of the Scandinavian market this year,” said Fiona Lane, the Seychelles’ regional manager for UK and the Scandinavian markets.
Both trade fairs brought together leading professionals in the travel and tourism business, and it was the ideal opportunity to increase the visibility of Seychelles as a tourist destination.
