The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), chief Executive Mrs. Sherin Francis, has recently visited Italy to confer with the Italian travel trade and to meet with the Italian wedding sector’s key players.
Mrs. Francis attended, together with the Director Mrs. Monette Rose and STB Italy based Marketing Executive, Mr. Lorenzo Sironi, to the ‘Zankyou Wedding Experience’ event in Rome, at Villa Trebazia, in the archeological area of Appia Antica, a few steps away from the ancient mausoleum of Cecilia Metella.
The event, at its first edition, aimed at bringing together all the key players of the wedding industry, to explore all the different shades and potentials of the wedding sector, through all the different experiences that it can generate.
Top-level journalists and professionals attended the event, which saw the media partnership of Sposi Magazine.
The theme of the event was ‘Wedding as an experience’: the Seychelles had the privilege of being the only destination represented for the part dedicated to exotic weddings.
Mrs. Sherin Francis had the opportunity to give a speech on how Seychelles is truly a dream destination for honeymooners and for a barefoot wedding in one of the many pristine and beautiful places of the archipelago.
The other partners of the event were Save the Children, for sustainable weddings, Gianni Molaro Atelier for the prêt-a-porter, Tramontano Gioielli for the handmade wedding, Daruma for the digital wedding and Il Mio Matrimonio for same-sex weddings. Amongst the special guests there was Equoevento Onlus, company specialized in fighting food waste, and Mrs. Bianca Trusiani, travel agent specialized in tailor made travels and destination weddings.
The wedding and honeymoon segment is very important in Italy and a great percentage of visitors from Italy are couples.

The event took place in the heart of the ancient city at the famous restaurant Camponeschi, in Piazza Farnese, one of Rome's most sophisticated and splendid squares and one of the most famous capital city's meeting places, since La Dolce Vita.
The event was very much appreciated by the Product Managers of Tour Operator companies, as it was a great opportunity to shares views on the destination, update and network in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
