The Seychelles archipelago, often described as the islands dreams are made of, has been bestowed with various awards highlighting its reputation as one of the top destinations.
Once again in 2018, Seychelles stands a chance of adding more accolades to its collection.
As a tourist destination, the 115-island archipelago in the western Indian Ocean has been nominated in seven categories in the Indian Ocean region, now that voting has started for the 25th annual World Travel Awards.
The categories in which Seychelles features as a nominee are: Indian Ocean's Leading Beach Destination; Indian Ocean's Leading Cruise Destination; Indian Ocean's Leading Destination, Indian Ocean's Leading Dive Destination; Indian Ocean's Leading Green Destination; Indian Ocean's Leading Honeymoon Destination and Indian Ocean's Leading Tourist Board.
Other travel organizations in Seychelles including the national airline, destination management company, and hotels, have also been nominated among others in the regions in their respective categories.
People wanting to choose their preferred airline, hotel, destination, destination management company and other travel related business in the Indian Ocean region, have until August 19 to cast their votes.
The Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Francis is urging everyone to vote for Seychelles online, on the World Travel Awards website.
Mrs Francis said: “Awards like these always accentuate on the strengths of our destination and the industry. It also influences people’s choice when using a particular service or choosing a destination to spend their vacation. That is why I am urging everyone in the industry to please give your support by voting for Seychelles on the World Travel Awards website.”
The World Travel Awards said votes are cast by both travel professionals and consumers, to ensure that only the most deserving organisations walk away with one of these prestigious accolades.
The 2018 Indian Ocean winners of the World Travel Awards will be announced at the Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony to be hosted at the Durban International Convention Centre in South Africa, on October 6.
Lisbon, Portugal will host the grand final gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards, on November 30, 2018.
